Don’t let the LIFE ITSELF trailer pass you by!

If you’re not elated by This Is Us‘ recent return to UK TV (Wednesdays on More4), then their is something seriously wrong. Dan Fogelman, the man behind the popular TV drama is taking a break from the Pearson family to bring us a new big screen story, Life Itself. See the trailer below.

There seems to be a lot going on in this trailer but from what my RomCom Guy eyes can make out, it focuses on a relationship between the characters played by Oscar Issac and Olivia Wilde, and the way their lives interact with a cacophony of other characters. Those other characters are played by an all star cast including Olivia Cooke, Annette Bening, Mandy Patinkin, Samuel L. Jackson and Antonio Banderas.

There seems to be plenty of laughs and tears to be had here (the moment where Issac’s character explains why he’s waiting to ask Wilde out gets me right in the feels), so not too far off what we expect from Fogelman. Before wowing the TV world with This is Us, Fogelman wrote the screenplays for Tangled, Crazy Stupid Love and Danny Collins (which he also directed) so he is no stranger to great cinematic romances; it looks like he may be on to another winner here.

Life Itself will be playing out on the silver screen in January 2019.
